Obama Raise Taxes? The Deuce, You Say!
Is there something I'm missing here, or is this guy a total retard? (Actually, I think the performance of our rookie President so far sullies the good name of retards.)
President Zero just signed away $787 BILLION dollars of our hard-earned money. But now, he claims, is the time to attack that fiendish national budget deficit!
In his weekly radio and Internet address yesterday, Obama said he is determined to "get exploding deficits under control" and that his budget request is "sober in its assessments, honest in its accounting, and lays out in detail my strategy for investing in what we need, cutting what we don't, and restoring fiscal discipline." Reducing the deficit, he said, is critical: "We can't generate sustained growth without getting our deficits under control."
...'exploding deficits'?? YOU stacked the dynamite and lit the fuse, you fool. The 'economic stimulus package', better known as the "We Won, And Now Comes The Payoff Act Of 2009", is the main reason "...congressional budget analysts forecast this year's deficit (will) approach $1.2 trillion - 8.3 percent of the overall economy, the highest since World War II".
So how will The Unicorn King get the deficit under control? BY RAISING TAXES:
To get there, Obama proposes to cut spending and raise taxes. The savings would come primarily from "winding down the war" in Iraq, a senior administration official said.
So Obama is going to retreat from Iraq. I guess he'll just announce a 'peace dividend', declare victory, and pass the savings off to various Democrat interest groups and pork projects. Spendulus Redux.
Obama also seeks to increase tax collections, mainly by making good on his promise to eliminate some of the temporary tax cuts enacted in 2001 and 2003. While the budget would keep the breaks that benefit middle-income families, it would eliminate them for wealthy taxpayers, defined as families earning more than $250,000 a year. Those tax breaks would be permitted to expire on schedule in 2011. That means the top tax rate would rise from 35 percent to 39.6 percent, the tax on capital gains would jump to 20 percent from 15 percent for wealthy filers, and the tax on estates worth more than $3.5 million would be maintained at the current rate of 45 percent.
Well, we all knew this was coming. By 'we' I mean Americans that did not vote for the Unicorn Party candidate. It's pretty obvious what has happened here. Obama won, the Democrats are in control, and now they have their hands on all the money-and they're pretty much going to do whatever they damn well please with it. It's been a long climb back to the top, and they will have their payoff.
Money. Power. That's what it's all about. And damn the consequences, apparently.

Rookie President says no Fairness Doctrine
Here's a story from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that says the amateur President has no plans to revive the so-called "Fairness Doctrine":
“President Obama opposes any move to bring back the so-called Fairness Doctrine, a spokesman told FOXNews.com Wednesday.
The statement is the first definitive stance the administration has taken since an aide told an industry publication last summer that Obama opposes the doctrine — a long-abolished policy that would require broadcasters to provide opposing viewpoints on controversial issues.
“As the president stated during the campaign, he does not believe the Fairness Doctrine should be reinstated,” White House spokesman Ben LaBolt told FOXNews.com….
I don't believe it. Not as in "you're telling me the pilot landed a passenger jet in the river, and everybody got out alive? I don't believe it!"
As in "I don't believe it". As in, the rookie President and the free-speech-for-me-but-not-for-thee Democrats who can't stand Rush Limbaugh's withering criticism will find a way to clamp down on opposition voices on talk radio.
You can say you read it here first, and that you knew me back when.

Is President Zero Already A Miserable Failure?
NRO's Mark Steyn thinks so:
Few pieces of political “wisdom” are more tediously recycled than a well-retailed bon mot of British prime minister Harold Macmillan. Asked what he feared most in the months ahead, he gave an amused Edwardian response: “Events, dear boy, events.” In other words, you can plan all you want but next month, next year, some guy off the radar screen will launch a war, or there’ll be an earthquake, or something. Governments get thrown off course by “events.”
It suggests a perverse kind of genius that the 44th president did not wait for a single “event” to throw him off course. Instead he threw himself off: “Is Obama tanking already?” (Congressional Quarterly); “Has Barack Obama’s presidency already failed?” (the Financial Times). Whether or not it’s “already” failed or tanked, the monthly magazines still gazing out from their newsstands with their glossy inaugural covers of a smiling Barack and Michelle waltzing on the audacity of hope seem like musty historical artifacts from a lost age. The ship didn’t need to hit an iceberg; it stalled halfway down the slipway.
His first piece of legislation will start America down the road to socialism. His cabinet picks have been a mix of tax cheats, corrupt governors, and shameless hacks. The list of broken campaign promises (legislation will be posted online for 5 days for public comment is one example) grows daily. He uses fear-mongering about the economy on a near-daily basis. And it's not entirely clear what President Zero believes in- beyond himself- at all.

The time has come to discuss whether or not the President is insane
Obama to Shift Focus to Budget Deficit
Having just added $787,000,000,000 to the country's ballooning budget deficit, President Zero will now turn his attention to... the country's ballooning budget deficit.
You wanna know how you address it, Numbnuts? You don't sign this $787 BILLION dollar Democrat Party Reparations Act of 2009- sorry- 'the economic stimulus bill'.
This pseudo-President is unbelievable! Ram thru hundreds of billions of dollars in largely unnecessary spending, then sound dire warnings about how much the country is in debt! Either he is determined to demonstrate the limits of hubris attainable for an American politician, or he is quite certifiably insane.
President Zero has just added approximately $1,000,000,000,000 dollars to our national debt (once you add in the cost of debt service) with his disaster of a socialist agenda spending bill. He is taking the United States down the road to serfdom- and economic ruin.
The President has gone mad.
Having just added $787,000,000,000 to the country's ballooning budget deficit, President Zero will now turn his attention to... the country's ballooning budget deficit.
He has scheduled a "fiscal-responsibility summit" on Feb. 23 and will unveil a budget blueprint three days later, crafted to put pressure on politicians to address the country's surging long-term debt crisis.

Speaking Friday to business leaders at the White House, the president defended the surge of spending in the stimulus plan, but he made sure to add: "It's important for us to think in the midterm and long term. And over that midterm and long term, we're going to have to have fiscal discipline. We are not going to be able to perpetually finance the levels of debt that the federal government is currently carrying."
Along those lines, White House budget director Peter R. Orszag has committed to instituting tougher budget-discipline rules -- once the economy turns around. Those include a mandate that any "nonemergency" spending increases be offset by equal spending cuts or tax increases.

The Obama administration has no current plans to end renditions—a practice utilized during the Clinton/Gore administration (with no protests that I can recall) before being adopted by Bush and Cheney (with administration critics up in arms and a Hollywood movie exposing the dastardliness of the practice).
